One of the most hated things in my life was failure. I never wanted to fail in anything, rather I would say that I was afraid of the failures. Things have changed a lot since I have joined a company and started to experience the real world. More than those experiences, I have read a lot about self improvement and other things in various blogs. One thing I have noticed common in all of them is the approach towards failure.
Back in school days, everyone was given an impression that failure is a very very bad thing. If you fail at something, then you would be considered as a useless creature. Even the social attitude was this. Teachers, parents, relatives and friends everyone would talk to you about how to make a successful life and the benefits it will give you. In exams, everyone tried to impress everyone else by scoring good marks, and those who fail for a subject were projected as useless. But now I miss that. I never failed in a subject in school or college. I consider it as one of the biggest losses in my life, although there are different view points about that. This is because, failures give you an opportunity nothing else in the world will give you. You can correct yourself, improve upon your failures among other benefits. But in return of all these you would have to give up your ego for sometime.
Now I realize the values and opportunities a failure would give me. Whenever I feel sad over something, I would tell myself: “Cool down man! This is an opportunity for you. Learn to fail!”, and within sometime, I get more energy and new thoughts which will make my journey forward easier and better. Now I am confident enough to handle more situations alone. When I was afraid of failures, I had less desire for success, but now I want to have success — and I am ready to face any hurdles that come along the way.
It is very important to handle the failures in the right way. You need to make those failure as an inspiration for your success. Sometimes, it can turn things around — I have seen so many people commit suicide when they face some failure in life. It is a common scene in Kerala when the results of exams are announced. Everyone is responsible for that. Ability to handle failure can make or break ones life. These kind of things which may seem very unimportant at first glance, should be a part of the school curriculum. Let us face the problems, rather than shying away from problems.
Thank you for your time.
