You will find them everywhere. Yes, I am talking of the experts. They will give you advice on anything and everything under the sun. But it is for us, to decide. In this post, I am sharing some of my experiences, regarding some of the expert advice.
When I started this blog, the biggest concern was to get some traffic. So I started to search for the methods. I got so many opinions from experts and advisors. They were talking of the do’s and don’ts of blogging, search engine optimizations, generating traffic and all sorts of things. The problem was that, they were too many. So finally I reached a state where I was surrounded by the expert advice. The result – I didn’t get any traffic, I got a zero page rank from Google, among other bad things happened to me. What was the real problem? Is it something with those experts, or is it with me, or is it with rest of the world? Let me analyse.
I would say that the biggest mistake was with me. I listened to all those experts, did what they said and finally paid everything off. Where did I go wrong? I did not use my brain. I did not do my own analysis for each and every advice I got. This may seem very impractical. Yes, it is indeed. Because you will find all the experts surrounding you. In this digital era, everyone is an expert, in something or other. But it is for each of us to identify what we need to do and what we don’t. This is a crucial point of time for a novice blogger, as he is not having any experience. This is what happened to me also. I believed all those people who were offering free advise. It is not wrong to listen to people, but it matters how you take the decisions. I should not have been influenced by all those experts.
As I said earlier, it is very easy for everyone to become an expert and offer an advice. There are a lot of experts without any credibility. I would rather call them as fake experts. They mislead the people, instead of leading them in the right way. The ultimate aim for them is to make money and not help you out in any manner. I did not identify those faces. But I should admit that some are real experts. They helped me a lot, but the effect of the fake ones was more than that of the real ones. The fake ones will present things to me and you in very attractive packages. We end up listening them and losing our time and money. Although I did not lose any money listening to all experts, I lost my valuable time.
Why Everyone Is Trying To Be An Expert?
Attention. That word describes it all. Seth Godin has nicely explained this. If you pose like an expert and start offering advice, then people will come to your site or blog. Because, everyone likes advises. Although I don’t go to any experts for my personal things, when it came to blogging, I also gave my attention to those liars. Had I understood this earlier, I could have done better. But I have no regrets. When you give someone your attention, that person has got the license to do anything with you. And those, so called experts, are smart enough to mislead you and me and get their things done. They get lot of traffic, from people who wants advise, they get linked back and of course, they make money out of all these things.
Lesson
I will be a real fool, if I can not distinguish between the real and fake ones. So the first step I took was to cut the feeds I read. I asked myself a number of questions and eliminated all those feeds which failed to pass my test. Now I listen to less, but real people. What matters is the experience. It matters a lot. People who give their advices from their own experience has the credibility and it is worth spending time for that. Because, it is the best teacher. The reason why I listen to experienced people is that, I can learn from the experience of other people. I have decided to give my time and attention to experienced people offering valuable information and not to experts offering advice. What do you say?

Good one and great info.. some lessons learnt… Thanks
